Our dedicated staff uses their knowledge of animal care to keep your pet healthy and happy during their stay.

Cats are boarded on a separate level from dogs and are located on the upper floor next to very large windows. We have several different levels of accommodations for cats; from standard cat cages to spacious cat condos.

We also board exotic animals, such as rabbits, birds, reptiles, ferrets, guinea pigs, etc. For exotic animal boarding, we generally ask that owners bring the cage that they would like their pet to be boarded in, as well as all of their supplies (including, food, toys, waterers, food bowls, etc). Also, for exotic animal boarding, it is helpful if you bring typed instructions of exactly how often to feed and what to feed along with any other special instructions.

About Our Pet Boarding Facilities

Suwanee Animal Hospital has the cleanest and friendliest state-of-the-art boarding facility we have ever seen. Our kennels are very spacious and a lot of time and energy was put into making our facilities as clean and comfortable as possible. For example, each of our kennels is outfitted with individual drains. The vast majority of the industry uses trench drains, which are smelly and unsanitary. Each trench drain typically runs through several kennels, which is gross and unacceptable to us. Unlike everybody else, our individual drains prevent dogs from being exposed to the waste of others.

Just like with sanitation, we also spent a lot of effort into creating the best quality AIR by bringing in all outside air and passing it by UV sterilizers and through high-quality filters.

Additionally, a lot of attention was put into sound blocking and absorption by using thicker walls that are filled with sound attenuating sand, using mineral wool insulation above the dropped ceiling, and spraying all of the structural steel and decking components with sound-deadening insulation. So, in addition to our friendly, energetic staff, we feel that we have created the best possible environment for housing animals.

Dog & Cat Boarding Requirements

All boarding guests must be up-to-date on vaccinations. If your pet requires any vaccinations before staying with us, we are happy to provide the vaccines for an additional fee. We also require a fecal exam prior to boarding. We have a community yard and want to prevent the spread of parasites.

We require dogs to be up-to-date on:

• Canine Distemper/Parvovirus
• Rabies
• Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
• Influenza
• Fecal

We require cats to be up-to-date on:

• Feline Distemper
• Rabies
• Fecal

Reservations are preferred, especially during holidays, but we can generally accommodate last-minute or emergency boarding needs.

Our boarding facility is open for drop-off and pick-up whenever the office is open.

Why Board Your Pet at a Veterinary Practice?

• Medications are administered by trained veterinary staff.
• If there is an emergency or your pet needs immediate medical care, our veterinarians and medical team are onsite for a quick response.
• If your pet requires updated vaccinations before boarding, we can take care of those before your pet's scheduled boarding date. If possible, please allow two weeks between vaccination and boarding.
• We offer veterinary exams or other medical services needed during your pet’s stay.
